• Das Modellvorhaben "Flächenhafte Verkehrsberuhigung" wird in 6 Modellstädten, unter anderem auch in Esslingen durchgeführt. Die zur Wirkungs- und Begleitforschung zählende Maßnahmendokumentation beinhaltet neben der Dokumentation der einzelnen Verkehrsberuhigungsmaßnahmen die Rekonstruktion des Planungsprozesses seit Auswahl der Modellgebiete. Im Beitrag sind die Grundlagen der Dokumentation beinhaltet, so die Auswertung des dokumentarischen Materials, die Ausbaupläne der einzelnen Verkehrsberuhigungsmaßnahmen und eine Fotodokumentation ist nach den einzelnen Planungsphasen untergliedert. Die zusammengestellten Erkenntnisse erstrecken sich unter anderem auf die Bereiche Ausgangslage zu Beginn des Modellvorhabens, Maßnahmenkonzepte, Dokumentation des Planungsprozesses, Darstellung ausgewählter Problembereiche etc.
• The model project "Area-wide traffic calming" is carried out in six model cities, i.e. Berlin, Borgentreich, Buxtehude, Esslingen, Ingolstadt and Mainz, under the leadership of three federal institutes: Federal Highway Research Institute (BASt), Federal Research Institute for Regional Geography and Regional Planning (BfLR), Federal Environmental Agency (UBA). The documentation of measures being a part of the effectiveness studies and the accompanying research included apart from the documentation of traffic calming measures the reconstruction of the planning process from the time of selecting the model areas. The documentation is based on: - an evaluation of the documentary material (protocols of political bodies and administrative authorities, reports on meetings of citizens, press articles) - construction plans for the traffic calming measures - a photo documentation of before and after conditions. The documentation of measures is subdivided into the various planning phases and organized according to the problems and measures involved. The knowledge compiled covers the following areas: - Initial situation at the time of conceiving the model project Survey of town planning, traffic and environmental conditions in the various areas Objective framework conditions and problems Conceptional measures Summary of preparatory planning studies for providing a planning concept Modifications of conceptual measures in the course of planning implemented traffic calming measures (including costs) - Documentation of planning processes and civic participation for the various planning phases.
