Personen- und Sachschäden bei Straßenverkehrsunfällen verursachten 1998 in Deutschland volkswirtschaftliche Kosten von insgesamt 68 Milliarden DM. Durch Personenschäden sind Unfallkosten von über 38 Milliarden DM entstanden, während die Kosten durch Sachschäden bei Straßenverkehrsunfällen über 29,6 Miliarden DM betrugen.
N2  - The social costs of road accidents in Germany are estimated yearly by the Federal Highway Research Institute (BASt). The basis for this estimation is a calculation model for accident costs. In 1998 accident costs in Germany nearly reach 68 Bill. DM. Deadly injured persons have got the largest share an these with over 18 Bill. DM. The costs for one deodly injured amounts to 2,3 Mio. DM. In 1998, total property damages amounted to nearly 29.6 Bill. DM.
