N2  - Das durch die Europäische Kommission geförderte Projekt DRUID hat das Ziel, den Einfluss von Drogen, Alkohol und Medikamenten auf die Verkehrssicherheit zu untersuchen und damit eine wissenschaftliche Grundlage für verkehrspolitische Entscheidungen innerhalb der EU zu schaffen. Das Projekt gliedert sich in sieben Arbeitspakete: "Methodology and Experimental Studies", "Epidemiology", "Enforcement", "Classification", "Rehabilitation", "Withdrawal" und "Dissemination and Guidelines", die von insgesamt 37 Institutionen aus 19 Ländern bearbeitet werden. Das Projekt wird von der Bundesanstalt für Straßenwesen koordiniert.
N2  - The objective of DRUID is to study the influence of drugs, alcohol, and medicines on road safety and, in this respect, to form a scientific basis for to the EU transport policy. The project is structured in seven work packages: "Methodology and Experimental Studies", "Epidemiology", "Enforcement", "Classification", "Rehabilitation", "Withdrawal" and "Dissemination and Guidelines". The scientific work is done by 37 institutions of 19 states. The project is coordinated by the Federal Highway Research Institute (BASt, Germany).
