Nach einer Einführung in die Diskussion um methodologische und methodische Ansätze in den Sozialwissenschaften wird ein Überblick über die Anfänge der verkehrssoziologischen Forschung gegeben. Die Beiträge zur Lage der Verkehrssoziologie heute sind unter den folgenden Abschnitten erfasst: Verkehrsdelinquenz und Theorie abweichenden Verhaltens (Das Verhältnis von Norm und Strafe; Empirische Ergebnisse); Segmentierung von Verkehrsteilnehmern; Einstellungsforschung; Verkehrssoziologie und zukünftige Entwicklungen des Verkehrssystems.
N2  - This study provides an overview of the contributions made by sociology to road accident and safety research in Germany. At first, the methodology and the approach methods used by social sciences are summarized. This is followed by a description of various development phases of sociology-oriented accident and safety research. In this context, three phases can be distinguished: - Collection of basic information - Structurally and functionally oriented approaches, and - Sociological contributions focusing on themes representing particular aspects of interdisciplinary research.
